Energy Planners Speak

Anders Larsen, Denmark, 2009 graduate
"I got my job at Ea Energy Analyses before I even finished my master in Sustainable Energy Planning and Management. In my job as a consultant I work with both energy system analysis and different economic analysis of energy systems. It is a very interesting job where I use the skills I leaned at the master. The interdisciplinary approach as well as the ability to work in groups, I learned at the master, is very useful in practice. There is no doubt in my mind that a master in Sustainable Energy Planning and Management is an intelligent and future proof choice of education. Planning is the key to a future energy system based on renewable energy".

Michelle Peled, Israel, 2008 Graduate
"I started at the Danish Energy Agency immediately after my final exam from the Sustainable Energy Planning & Management programme. There I am working on energy savings & efficient energy use; one of the most important tools in climate change mitigation. The work is incredibly interesting being at the nexus of the technically and politically possible. I am working on the implementation of energy efficiency measures into Danish legislation and have a very wide range of international activities in my job."

"The problem based learning style of knowledge advancement at Aalborg University provides an opportunity for tackling real world challenges through integrating practical and academic methods, and knowledge sharing. With the help of the opportunities at the university I have been able to usefully link my work experience and academic developments, and I expect to make my experience more valuable.

Ethan Davis, USA, 2007 Graduate
"AAU offers a richly interdisciplinary education at the nexus of engineering, environmental science, and economics to provide students with the tools to make sound sustainable energy planning and management decisions. I particularly liked the student driven project-based approach to teaching which gives students the creative freedom to explore their interests based on real world problems. The unique methods and focus of the AAU education prepared me for research at national labs investigating bioenergy resource assessment, supply, logistics, and potential economic and environmental impacts in the U.S. In short, AAU offers a learning experience unique in methods and scope that creates palpable insight into real world problems."
